John Lyons PENG MBA LEED® AP BD+C | Toronto

John leads a team of high-performance building design professionals across Canada, working on some of the country’s most exciting projects such as the Edmonton Downtown Arena (new home of the Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club), the International Facilities Project at the Calgary International Airport, and the Durham Regional Police Clarington Police Services facilities in Ontario. Drawing on extensive business and engineering expertise, John collaborates with various disciplines to ensure projects have positive financial and environmental outcomes. John works tirelessly to find regenerative solutions to energy, water, and material needs, and to ultimately better integrate our society’s built environment with existing ecosystems.
Working on some of the world’s most progressive projects, including the Living Building Challenge targeted York Region Forest Stewardship and Education Centre in Stouffville, Ontario, John often speaks at Universities, Colleges, and Conferences across North America. As well, John serves on the board of Community Forests International, an international not-for-profit that aims to foster environmental stewardship internationally by establishing community forests, promoting sustainable forestry techniques and initiating environmental education.
