Five useful apps for engineers
Life in AEC is dramatically different since the advent of the smart phone. The handy dandy little software packages that these devices deliver aren’t just for people looking to play Temple Run or Fruit Ninja. In fact, many apps are tremendously useful to professionals of all sorts, including engineers.
In just a few minutes and for little to no cost, it is easy to acquire useful examples of the software affectionately referred to as an app. Here are five apps for engineers we’ve found to be of interest:
1) AutoCAD WS
Consensus is that this is the best mobile version of AutoCAD. It is among the most downloaded tools for engineers available on the internet.
2) Engineering Professional
This bad boy comes with more than 600 mathematical formulas for engineers of every type. This is an exceptionally useful app for pro engineers needing a formula reference database.
3) EE Basics
This reference database includes articles with the basic Electrical Engineering laws and tables with all kinds of useful information related to the field.
4) Finger CAD
FingerCAD allows engineers to draw houses, bridges, mechanical components, geometrical figures, and everything they can draw with common CAD.
5) HVAC Professional
This app includes all 200 formulas of the HVAC Fomulator, 18 charts, and a complete copy of International Mechanical Code.
If you are an engineer, or are just interested in apps of any sort, tell us what you think of these ones or if you know others apps for engineers that we should have included.
