The Future of Design is Community Wellbeing
A century ago, cities were designed to impede infectious outbreaks. Today, our health challenges are vastly different. It’s no longer influenza or tuberculosis we need to worry about; it’s the chronic ailments attributed to lifestyle that will be our demise.
How can we design our cities to promote wellbeing?
Antonio Gómez-Palacio is bringing the Community Wellbeing Framework to Paris. An appointed member of the Scientific and Professional Committee of the Paris Design Summit, Antonio will be sharing his in-depth knowledge in three exciting formats.
Opening Keynote Speaker: Following the opening of the Summit by the Mayor of Paris, Antonio will take centre stage, bringing the Community Wellbeing Framework methodology to a global audience of design professionals.
In 2018, Antonio introduced the Community Wellbeing Framework at the Montreal Design Summit. Now, the research report has been published and Antonio will reveal the Framework’s metrics, and how they can inform the work of design professionals around the world.

Roundtable Leader: Antonio will lead Roundtable discussions, collaborating with professionals from all disciplines hailing from more than 50 different countries. The roundtable participants work together to develop recommendations that will be used to establish a World Sustainable Design Framework Strategy. This strategy is the major output of the Paris Design Summit and will create a defined structure to shape public policy and social action on a global scale through design.
