Our Team
Chen Cohen Partner, Interior Designer BArchSc | DipID | ARIDO | IDC | NCIDQ | RHFAC Toronto

Cohen brings an impressive wealth of knowledge and experience to our Toronto studio. As an integrated designer with a background in both interior design and architecture, she delivers a holistic approach to designing buildings from the inside out. Recognized by numerous national and international design awards, her work is characterized by the exceptional quality of light, careful material choices, strategic use of colour, and a selection of furnishings that harmonize to elevate the overall spatial experience of every building.

Cohen’s diverse portfolio of large complex institutional buildings includes academic, civic, sports and recreation, and museum projects. Known for her methodical, hands-on, collaborative style from early concept through completion, Cohen’s approach to interior design weaves in her passion for universal design. She leads stakeholder explorations around cultural, physical, and gender sensitivities to support and enhance the user experience. Cohen is also in the process of achieving the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification (RHFAC) Professional designation to promote conversations and design solutions that improve meaningful use and equitable experiences of her projects.

Whose work are you most impressed by?
One of my biggest motivations for joining DIALOG was to collaborate with Donna Clare, given her recent work on the Royal Alberta Museum. We both share a passion for cultural and higher education projects and I’m excited that she’s now based in our Toronto studio!

How do you spend your weekends?
I love exploring the city – riding my bike around town with my husband, exploring new trails with my dog, or immersing myself in the diverse food scene that Toronto has to offer. No drive is too far for a great meal.

Where’s your happy place?
On a beach by the ocean, reading a good book with a cold Diet Coke by my side.
