Daria is passionate about structural design and building rehabilitation. He brings 20 years of experience, 15 gained while leading his own company, to his role at DIALOG. In 2009, Daria was appointed principal and today he provides leadership to the firm’s Toronto structural engineering team.
Using his expertise in structural analysis and design of post disaster buildings, Daria has worked with the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) completing earthquake damage surveys, heritage preservation, and structural rehabilitation for 13 buildings in Pasadena, California and Portland, Oregon. His expertise extends to the design of steel and heavy timber structures, having completed numerous rehabilitation projects on both recent and historic buildings.
Daria can claim to be “integrated” at his roots. He began his university education studying electrical engineering for three years. He soon realized that his calling was to structural engineering (“the best decision I ever made”)…and the rest is history.
