Double Major

Two centres of excellence meet in the middle to deliver hands-on apprenticeship training

Edmonton, Alberta

Heavy duty

Designed to accommodate equipment and technology-intensive apprenticeship programs including Millwright and Instrumentation.

Nerve centre

A naturally lit central atrium forms the facility's spine and features a cafeteria, social spaces, and building services. The atrium is aligned with the campus’ major east-west pedestrian axis.

Public engagement

Corridors, circulation and social spaces are also situated around the glazed building perimeter, connecting the school to public spaces outside.

Hot corners

Well-windowed demonstration labs and shops anchor the building’s corners.

Industrial aesthetic

Exposed building elements and discreet finishes define the interior design approach.
