Life Begins at 50

The undertaking of the first Seneca College Campus Master Plan represents a historical moment, launching the college’s bold new vision.

Toronto, Ontario

Three's Company

Articulating a strong vision for each of the three campuses, supported by core principles informed by the tenets of sustainable campus community planning, and development frameworks that harmonize built form, open spaces, and mobility on the campuses, as well as relationships to the surrounding context.

Books and Nooks

One of the main thrusts of the Master Plan is an improved campus life experience that acts as a strong compliment to inherent goals of academic excellence. Open spaces developed that prioritize active modes of transportation; walking, cycling, and transit; nooks that encourage spontaneous study and socialization and flexible learning spaces are a few of many special features.

Dynamic & Democratic Engagement

Cross sector Seneca community buy-in was critical in decision-making. A wide range of stakeholders including campus faculty and staff, students, alumni, residents, local community leaders, and municipal representatives are engaged. Over 14 months, 10 public events held across all campuses leading to three unique campus plans.

Three for One

Campus Master Plans developed for Seneca College’s King and Markham Campuses in York Region, and its Newnham Campus in North York contribute to the college’s current needs, new opportunities and future growth.
