Mona joined our Vancouver Studio in 2015. She is the lead architect on a variety of comprehensive planning and mixed-use developments, including The River Mile, one of the largest mixed-use developments in Denver. Mona moved to San Francisco in 2018 to help grow our first US studio. She has been instrumental in developing a strategic plan for our expansion into the Bay Area. So much so, Mona was recently named principal by the DIALOG partnership.
Working across organizational boundaries and with key stakeholders, Mona has set a clear direction for our new studio that aligns with our overall vision. She has also been leading the business development efforts and growing our professional network in the Bay Area. She has already built a strong local presence and increased our brand awareness in the US market. Mona connects the dots between our diverse expertise by thinking broadly about our business, and creates a complete picture for our clients and is able to showcase the ways in which we add value.
Mona uses her background in environmental, architectural, and urban design to work at various scales. From a single structure to large urban master plans, Mona applies contextual design principles that focus on the user interface and the dynamic public realm. She thrives on complex projects that require an unconventional approach and uses her critical thinking skills to resolve them effectively.
Mona is hands-on with all of her projects, and inspires her team to perform their best in fulfilling each project's unique vision. With a proven ability to build trust and credibility, Mona consistently meets her client's expectations. She is committed to supporting the development of her fellow DIALOGers and works hard to create a strong team and ensure a vibrant culture that aligns with our overall mission.
Mona is actively engaged in the professional community and sits on various local and national boards. She is currently the co-chair of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) 2020 Fall Conference Tours Committee, as well as the vice-chair of ULI's San Fransisco Programs Committee. She is an active member of the San Francisco Bay Area Planning and Urban Research Association (SPUR) and sits on the Urban Infrastructure Committee.
What inspires me most is the unique opportunity that we have in our San Francisco studio – effectively, the potential of a start-up within our established firm. I wake up thinking about ways that I can help grow this practice and make it successful.Mona Lovgreen
