Structural Integrity – DIALOG announces merger with Jones Kwong Kishi Engineering

March 18, 2020

National design leader DIALOG advances its strategic offering in Western Canada with the integration of Jones Kwong Kishi Engineering (JKK) into its Vancouver studio. Building upon DIALOG’s multidisciplinary approach to design the addition of JKK offers yet another dimension to the firm’s integrated practice.

“DIALOG and JKK share a long history of collaboration. We are thrilled at the opportunity to have one of Vancouver’s most accomplished structural design firms join our organization,” says DIALOG Vancouver’s Studio Managing Principal Alan Boniface. “Our common commitment to a great work environment was a critical factor in our decision to merge. Our ongoing recognition as one of Canada’s top employers is a testament to the importance of culture at DIALOG.”

A leader among structural design consultants in British Columbia, JKK’s portfolio includes some of Vancouver’s most prominent residential, mixed-use and hotel towers including the Shaw Tower and the Fairmont Pacific Rim, as well as both the Vancouver and Toronto Shangri La.

“JKK brings with them extensive high-rise structural design experience, a key addition to DIALOG’s existing engineering services moving forward,” comments DIALOG’s Managing Principal Tom Sutherland. “The addition of our new partners allows us to provide in-house structural expertise in our Vancouver studio, while reinforcing our national commitment to integrated design.”

JKK’s portfolio of award-winning structural solutions and their focus on sustainability and collaborative innovation aligns perfectly with DIALOG’s mission and direction. The majority of JKK’s experienced technical staff has worked together for over twenty years, creating a proficient team with the knowledge and experience to meet any project challenge.

“One of our first projects with DIALOG was the Lonsdale Quay Market design back in the 1980s and we’ve always worked well together. The decision to merge is largely based on the confidence in our fit with DIALOG’s culture.” adds JKK’s Principal Fadi Ghorayeb. “The merger gives us a great opportunity to offer our high-rise structural expertise to clients across the country and we are looking forward to the challenges ahead.”
